🍔 Hamburger Deluxe
This is the kind of burger that comes wrapped in wax paper or plated next to crinkle-cut fries. A seasoned beef patty, American cheese, and the classic trio: lettuce, tomato, and onion. Add a pickle spear and it’s ready for the booth.
Ingredients (Makes 4 burgers)

For the Patties:
- 1½ lbs ground chuck (80/20)
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tsp kosher salt
- ½ tsp black pepper
- ½ tsp garlic powder
For Assembly:
- 4 hamburger buns, toasted
- 4 slices American cheese
- Iceberg lettuce leaves
- Tomato slices
- Thinly sliced red onion
- Dill pickle slices
- Ketchup, mustard, mayo (optional)
Instructions
- Mix and shape: Combine beef with Worcestershire, salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Form into 4 patties, slightly wider than the buns.
- Griddle or pan-fry over medium-high heat, 3–4 minutes per side. Add cheese during the last minute.
- Toast buns on the griddle or in a pan until golden.
- Build: Bottom bun, patty with melted cheese, lettuce, tomato, onion, pickles, and condiments. Top bun goes last.
Notes
- Smash-style? Press the patty flat for crispy edges.
- Want extra diner cred? Serve with onion rings or disco fries.
- House sauce idea: mayo + ketchup + pickle juice + paprika.
